We believe the future of our country deserves a voice and a seat at the table

The New Voters Mission
New Voters began as a high school club in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, where we registered to vote over 85% of eligible students in our founder’s high school for the 2018 midterm election. That year, New Voters expanded to dozens of schools in Pennsylvania and officially became a 501(c)3 nonprofit
In 2020, we launched nationally and recruited our team of 50+ interns and directors to expand the reach of our registration model.
Since our foundation, we have impacted over 300,000 high school students, registered over 80,000 high school students to vote, and worked with student leaders in 39 states.
What We Do

Peer-to-Peer Mentorship and Training
We pair our interested student leaders with a trained, in-house New Voters mentor who is also a high school/college student. This mentor works one-on-one with the student leader to provide them resources and guidance on running a voter registration drive at their school.

Drive Execution
The high school student leader runs a drive using their New Voters school-specific registration link. After the drive, the mentor helps them track their impact and guides them in establishing a permanent New Voters school chapter.

Engagement Beyond Registration
The student leader works with their mentor and the New Voters policy team to coordinate community-driven advocacy initiatives and engagement sessions to bring more young people into their state policy conversation.

Sydnie is a sophomore at Boston University studying political science and international relations and hails from the city of Chicago. She joined New Voters as a college mentor during the 2022 Midterms, helping high school students host registration drives at their schools and immediately noticing the impact of empowering first-time voters to make a difference at the ballot box. As acting Chief of Staff, she hopes to expand New Voters’ reach in states where young voters can generate the largest wave while helping students become civically empowered beyond election years. Outside of New Voters, she’s involved with local political campaigns, on-campus civic organizations, and writes for Boston University’s Political Review. When she’s not interacting with politics, she enjoys exploring the city, cooking with friends, and escaping in nature.

Luiza Trad (she/her)
Luiza Trad is a first-year The George Washington University student studying international relations and political science. Growing up in Brazil, Luiza saw that the changes citizens wanted to see were ignored and was surprised to learn that after moving to the U.S., many citizens, especially young people, did not exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard. She first heard about New Voters sophomore year from a friend running a voter registration drive at her high school and decided to help. That summer, she decided to join as an intern. Luiza has served as Director of Policy since August 2022 and has been a member of the Policy Department since May 2021.
